Dakota Ridge Condominiums

Dakota Ridge Condominiums is located in west Ames, an area of heavy development. As a true set of condominiums, tenants buy their unit so they can start building equity rather than renting, while the contractor begins actual construction. After the initial purchase, tenants have the option to choose their apartment finishes. Including paint colors and material choices ranging from cabinetry (wood/finish), flooring, countertops and appliances, plus electrical outlets and plumbing. There are two standard unit types including a two bedroom, two bath and a one bedroom, one bath. Each have a full kitchen, living room and individual balcony/patio. Other amenities include a community room, fitness room, a one stall garage for each unit and storage units in the basement of the complex.

For this project several schemes were developed for the building and once a layout was decided upon in agreement with the new tenants, construction documents were completed and the construction process was coordinated. Materials for presentations such as full 3D renderings and animations for marketing on the Dakota Ridge website were developed by BDC as a tool to help the builder sell the condominiums.
