Sunset Beach Apartments

Ames, Iowa

This project is a continuation of a long term relationship with a client who focuses on developing properties for student apartments.

This building is set on the edge of the historic Greek community and is within walking distance to campus. Parking is a real problem in this area so the design solution incorporates sheltered, underground parking, one stall for every resident. Other amenities include, individual balconies and loft apartments on the top floor. Landscaping and terraced retaining walls help with pre-existing water drainage issues and gives the student apartment building a more finished, residential look.

The inclusion of additional design details on the exterior allowed the Owner/ Developer to realize substantial tax abatements for the property.
